The International Conference on Integrated Approaches for Volcanic Risk Management was held at Hohenheim University in Stuttgart, Germany on 11-12 September 2012.
A total of 70 participants from 18 countries around the world attended the conference. The programme included 39 oral presentations and 15 posters covering a large part of volcanic risk management fields of research.
The Programme was divided into 6 sessions:
· Hazard and risk mapping methodologies
· Management of volcanic crisis and Strategies for Disaster Risk Reduction
· Monitoring Methods
· Vulnerability and resilience of human communities
· Cross Cutting Issues
· Information Management and Decision support

The quality of the presentations was very good and participants showed a strong interest in MIAVITA project outcomes; especially in the bottom-up approaches developed for community-based risk management, vulnerability assessment and risk mapping.
